Joey Chestnut

Joey Chestnut won his 16th Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest title on July 4, 2023, by consuming 62 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

This was his second-lowest total since 2015, but it was enough to hold off second-place finisher Geoffrey Esper, who ate 51 hot dogs and buns.

Chestnut had to battle a weather delay early in the contest, but he was able to quickly regain his footing and build a comfortable lead.

He never looked back, and he cruised to victory for the eighth straight year.

With this victory, Chestnut further cemented his legacy as the greatest competitive eater of all time.

He now has 16 Nathan's titles, more than any other competitor in history. He also holds the world record for eating 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, which he set in 2021.

Chestnut's victory was worth $100,000, and it also earned him a spot in the Nathan's Hot Dog Hall of Fame.

He is now the only competitor to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame twice.

Chestnut is a true legend of competitive eating, and he showed once again on July 4 that he is still the best in the world
